When we look at a tree or a house, the first thing that we notice is what is above. Nevertheless, this tree, this house, they are what they are thanks to their foundations, their roots, without it they wouldn´t be anythint at all. We need foundations and roots to remain of foot, to feed and to support, they are the first step to grow. Our roots are in Christ ... it is necessary to let him dig in the deepest of our being to give us stability, firmness, solidity. Cuando miramos un árbol o una casa, lo primero que notamos es lo que está arriba. Sin embargo, ese árbol, esa casa, son lo que son gracias a sus cimientos, a sus raíces... sin ellas no serían nada. Necesitamos cimientos y raíces para mantenernos en pie, alimentarnos y ser estables... son el primer paso para crecer. Nuestras raíces están en Cristo... es necesario dejarlo entrar en lo más profundo de nuestro ser para darnos estabilidad, firmeza, solidez...

We all have scars, because we all fall some time. When we were children trying to learn how to walk without support or bicking … We grew, but righ when we thought that the age of band aids had finished, because of hurrys or distractions, we often we hurt ourselves. Every scar remind us a moment of our life, not a very pleasant one.

We do of everything to erase them, take care of them in order to heal well and they do not leave tracks, cover them with makeup or with cream of shell of mother-of-pearl and some even use surgery … what would not we do for getting rid of them? The problem is that no matter how much we hide them, there they are … may be the others can´t see them, but we know very well that they continue there.

Many of us we have deeper scars: rancors, annoyances and disappointments that don´t let us go foward … the only remedy for these scars is Christ. To approach Him, to show them to Him, to put them in His hands in order that He heal us is the only thing that we can do to eliminate them and to grow. He can heal our heart and clean it so that we could live in peace. How much time more you are going to continue covering your scars and suffering silently?

Todos tenemos cicatrices y marcas, quién no se ha caído nunca? Cuando éramos niños e intentábamos aprender a caminar sin apoyo o a pedalear sin las rueditas del costado… Crecimos, pero justo cuando creíamos que la era de las curitas se había terminado, por apurados o distraídos, muchas veces nos lastimamos. Cada marca nos recuerda un momento de nuestra vida, no muy grato por lo general. Hacemos de todo por borrarlas, las cuidamos para que cicatricen bien y no dejen rastros, las cubrimos con maquillaje o con crema de concha de nácar y algunos hasta recurren a la cirugía… ¿qué no haríamos por deshacernos de ellas? El problema es que por más que las disimulemos, ahí están… puede que otros no las vean, pero sabemos muy bien que siguen ahí.

Muchos de nosotros tenemos marcas más profundas: rencores, enojos y decepciones que no nos dejan seguir adelante… el único remedio para estas cicatrices es Cristo. Acercarnos a él, mostrárselas, ponerlas en sus manos para que nos cure es lo único que podemos hacer para eliminarlas y crecer. Él puede curarnos el corazón y limpiarlo para que podamos vivir en paz. ¿Cuánto tiempo más vas a seguir cubriendo tus cicatrices y sufriendo en silencio?

On May 17th at the Road we talked about Growing in our walks with the Lord and what happens when we stop growing. We talked about what ittakes to grow: knowing Jesus, feeding on His word, developing communication with our Father (prayer), and continuing fellowship withother believers. We looked at the life of David and what happens whenwe stop growing. Through the situation with Bathsheba, we saw howDavid fell into sin and tried to cover his sin because he wasn't growing. At the end, we looked at how we can start growing again andhow our amazing God is willing to forgive all of the sins we may have committed while we weren't growing. So, here's the question: Are YOU growing?
